Memories come to Bucky all the time. Usually, they're odd tidbits from his life, trivial moments that make him chuckle - Steve not knowing when to call it quits, dancing with pretty girls and trips to Coney Island. And sometimes they hit him like a freight train. That's what happens when he wakes up at 2am to the memory of his mother's famous cinnamon and apple cake. More specifically, it's a memory of her teaching his younger sister how to make it whilst he read at the kitchen table. It's clear as day, his subconscious stored away the whole recipe and before he knows it, his feet are carrying him to the compound kitchen. One cake later, Bucky cleans up the kitchen as the sunrises, slinking back to bed with a slice for breakfast. It soon becomes a habit, baking in the dead of night... alone. And then he piques the curiosity of agent in training, Margot. RELUCTANT FRIENDS TO LOVERS | GRUMPY/SUNSHINE NON-CANON MCU POST-CIVIL WAR BUCKY INSPIRED BY MY ONE-SHOT 'SOFT CENTRED'
