"so, spill." Kie laid on her bed like a starfish.
"about what?!" i picked dirt out from under my nails, lounging on her furry rug.
"you and JJ!"
"there's nothing to tell! we told you when you got out of the van!"
"no lip to lip kissing, blah blah blah. i don't believe that for a second!"
"it's true!"
"fine, tell me everything that happened."
i sighed and sat up. "after you left we re-waxed our boards and JJ cut himself, i bandaged him up and we almost kissed."
"ha!" she clapped her hands.
i rolled my eyes. "after that we swam in the creek and sunbathed."
"you mean the marsh?"
"whatever." i sighed.
"girl, he definitely likes you."
"i know," i shrugged.
"so date!"
"we're going on one."
"what?!"
"he's going to have to work for me."
"of course," she pouted. "so have you had many boyfriends?"
"i had one in Australia and one in Hawaii, both long term, and then more quick flings than i can remember."
"so you're a bit of a hoe?"
"i wouldn't word it exactly like that but yeah, i guess i was."
"hm,"
"what about you? have you had any boyfriends?"
she shrugged. "not really. i did have a 'quick fling' with a Kook... that was a mistake."
this caught my attention. "when was this?!"
"a few months ago..."
"and what was his name!"
"i can't remember."
"yes you can!"
"i don't want to remember!"
i groaned. "you're no fun! what's life without a little scandal?!"
"peaceful! exactly how it should be!"
i rolled my eyes and continued picking at my nails. "what's there to do around here apart from surfing and drinking?"
"not much,"
i sat up, "you should all come to Hawaii!"
"Hawaii?" she laughed.
"yes! my family's in Australia so the Hawaii house is empty! it'll be great, we can party and surf and do whatever we want!"
"how do you expect us to gather the money to pay for all this?"
"i'll pay!"
she considered. "well i'm down, JJ and John B'll probably come, and Pope might just be able to convince his parents... if they don't agree we can do the old fashioned; make a run for it and hope the cops don't come after you."
"i knew stuff went on here!" i clapped my hands.
"what do you want?" Jonny sighed as Kie and i sat opposite him, JJ and Pope on the stairs leading up to the porch.
"we... Mia has a proposition." she grinned and nodded at me.
"what if i paid for our flights and we spent the summer in the Hawaii house?" i looked at each of them.
