The Phantom

Jo wakes up to sirens down the road.

She's laying on one of the benches with her head on JJ's lap.

His arm is wrapped around her while he's clicking his zippo lighter.

"Did you sleep at all Jay?" she whispers so she doesn't wake Pope and Kie.

JJ shakes his head.

"I couldn't sleep. It's ok though you needed to sleep." he tells her.

She moves her head up so she's laying her head on his chest.

"This whole thing has gotten so messed up." she says.

"I know Jo. I am so worried about John B man." Jo looks up at him.

"I know I am too. This shit is so fucked up."

She watches as JJ stands up and walks over to the back patio door.

She stands up and follows him.

She grabs his hand to get his attention.

"Everything is gonna work out." she tells him.

"How do you know?" he asks her in a broken voice.

She gives him a small smile.

"We just have to believe that everything is gonna work out. Plus John B has us to make sure that it does." Jo assures him.

"How can you stay so positive after everything we've been through?" JJ asks in astonishment.

He bends down and kisses her.

She kisses him back and wraps her arms around his shoulders.

"You're amazing." he whispers.

She blushes and gives him a small smile.

They break apart when Pope walks over to them and looks horrible.

"Are they still patrolling?" he asks them.

Jo sighs and nods her head.

"Yea they just drove past like 5 minutes ago." she says.

"Good that means they haven't caught him yet." Pope says.

"Let's hope." JJ comments.

"You know, we were in that car too. They're probably looking for us also." Kie says as she comes to stand with them.

Pope glances at her awkwardly.

Jo and JJ share a look.

"Well if we're gonna be outlaws, we may as well help John B." Pope states firmly.

"So we find him before they do?" JJ asks.

Pope reaches into JJ's bag and grabs the keys to his bike.

"Where are you going?" Jo asks him.

"I'm gonna go get gas for the boat." Pope tells them curtly.

He heads for the door.

"Be careful." Kie says softly to him.

Pope looks at her for a second before he turns his head away from her and looks toward JJ and Jo.

"Meet me at the dock at 3 you guys. Don't be late." Pope tells them before he walks out the door.

Jo glances at Kie and sees that she's upset.

Kie gets up and follows Pope out the door.

"What is your problem?" they hear Kie shout to Pope.

"Should we-?" Jo points to the door.
