You loved your father, but being a Shoupe wasn't always easy. Having a cop for a dad came with its complications.

Your classmates never wanted to invite you to their parties, for fear your dad would show up and bust it.

Thankfully you had gotten pretty close with Sarah Cameron, the kook princess herself. Which meant you eventually came to be close with the pogues too.

They couldn't care less about your 'cop dad' status. They didn't have rich parents who would cut them off if they got in trouble.

Despite being a close knit small group, you had plenty of fun with them. Fulfilling your high school party standards.

It was surprisingly easy to lie to your dad, considering the circumstances. He liked Sarah but her older brother, not so much.

Unfortunately you had a crush on one of the kooks your dad couldn't stand. For your own good, you kept those feeling to yourself.

Maybe you just wanted to rebel? And who better to rebel with than Rafe? You knew it would piss your dad off beyond belief.

"Did you hear me?" Sarahs voice snapped you out of your thoughts. You blinked at her a few times, "sorry?"

She simply laughed and shook her head. "I said, Topper is having a party and he invited us!" She said excitedly.

You looked towards the others pogues to gauge their reaction. They looked less than pleased, their faces covered with scowls.

Sarah notices and groans as you quickly argue, "guys come on! I know yall don't care for kooks but it's a free party.... Free booze!"

This was all jj needed to hear before joining in. You couldn't help but laugh at his eagerness. "Come on guys please?! " You smiled and stood up. You knew it sounded stupid but you wanted to attend a kook party.

The remaining group shared a look before following suit. "I'll be dd don't worry." John b said in a jokingly fatherly voice.

Thanks to a bottle of vodka jj stole from his dad, the group pregamed before going to Toppers. You sat happily in the backseat, the rolled down window allowing you to feel the South Carolina breeze.

You had a few shots, leaving you tipsy but excited for more. John b parked the car and helped everyone out before the crew headed towards the house. You happily skipped towards the front door, not having been to as many parties as your classmates.

"Slow down!" Kiara laughed while following after you. You simply threw your head back and looked up to the stars, it was a beautiful night.

Everyone was going through the back door so the group followed. You, Sarah, and Kiara were used to kook house but the boys weren't. They looked around in absolute astonishment and you couldn't help but laugh.

Topper quickly spotted you and the group, walking over with a smile. "Hey guys I'm glad y'all made it!" Topper said happily, clearly already inebriated.

"Thanks so much for having us Topper." You said sincerely and pulled him into a quick hug. He was taken aback, but due to the alcohol in his system he easily hugged back and agreed. "Of course! Have fun guys!"

Just as quickly as he came he was gone again, joining in a game of beer pong. You smiled before looking around, and quickly realizing how out of place you felt.

These were your friends in school but outside of school, they didn't act like it. You took a deep breath before shaking your head and refusing to let their judgement get to you. "Lets go get a drink!" You grabbed Sarah and Kiara, then pulled them towards the kitchen.
